Length: 131.7 mm, Width: 59.4 mm. Scuba, day, approximately 60 ft, exposed on the reef. Hopital Point. Collected by Bob Abela on 31 May 2004.

Distribution: Throughout the Indo-Pacific.
Habitat: Although reported from sandy habitats, Guam specimens are typically found along exposed outer reefs.
Availability: Rare on Guam.
Size: According to Walls, this subspecies may reach up to 160 mm.
Comments: A mottled brown dorsum is more typical than the specimen figured here, which is almost entirely orange. L. (L.) crocata pilsbryi Abbott, 1961, endemic to the Marquesas, is characterized by its larger size and longer, straighter digits.
