On July 18th, many of the Club members gathered at the Piti Bomb Craters for a night outing. Also attending the outing were some special guests from Tom Rice's Tour Group. There were a number of snorkelers, scuba divers, and just plain reef walkers in attendance. All enjoyed the fruitful evening. Some of the shells found were a large Conus geographus, which Wayne Goudeau stumbled upon and a pair of Epitonium Paul Merril discovered. Also found were Mitra mitra, Oliva mineacea, Cassis ponderosa and other Terebra, Cones and Miters.

There was only one major outing during this quarter, as many members were off island for vacation.

Rizal Beach - Many members came and went throughout the day. The day was warm and sunny and the water very clear. Not too many shells were found. A few large cowries were the most notable finds, but everyone had fun turning rocks and poking around the reef.

Cocos Island Shell Outing - On Feb 19th, twenty four people attended the Cocos Island outing. The boat left for Cocos around 9:00 in the morning and returned about 4:30 in the afternoon. A good time was had by all, with shelling, exploring the island, lying about in the sun and just sitting around talking about shells. Just about everyone found a few shells to bring home with them. The better finds of the day were a Conus marmoreus and an Epitonium pallasi.

Dog Leg Reef Outing - March 24th people came and went throughout the day on this outing so it was hard to get a count of the number of people who attended. There wasn't much finding, but a lot of talking took place. Major finds of the day were several Cypraea mappa and one Cypraea kieneri. Our president, who we won't mention by name, did find an ant nest and acquired quite a number of cling friends in the process. Congratulations to a member who goes out of his way to find and make new friends on any outing.
